Using the Fire and Earth Attunement For Other Goals

There are two ways I would tweak this immediately. The first is to direct the energy coming in to also burn up and vaporize “unneeded”, “unwanted”, and/or “unhelpful” energies. These get pushed up and outside of you as the energy continues from below. This is similar to an internal banishing, except it doesn’t just whisk the energies elsewhere.

The second is that as the molten river flows out of the top of your crown and down the sides of your body, direct it to burn off “unneeded”, “unwanted”, and/or “unhelpful” attachments or linkages. Let it do the work for you. Done daily, it can help clear out persistent attachments and links that no longer serve you. We know that some attachments are harder to remove than others and that some need to be removed several times. 

This can be used more surgically for stronger attachments and I would consider calling on Pele or Hi’iaka to assist with this if it becomes troublesome.

One of the other tweaks I do for this exercise is to face Kilauea and pull from there. It’s easier for me to do, since I’ve been there. There are the live cam feeds that the USGS puts out for those that need or want a visual reference in real-time. Just remember to call to the energy below the feed and not the jets or bubbling masses you see on the surface. My opinion, but the energy of those above ground sources is already diminishing and we want to pull it from the source.

The last tweak I would look at using quickly is by adding the intent to ground via the molten rock in the energies you’re pulling in. With this combination of Fire and Earth, we can both energize ourselves while also intentionally grounding. If I get irritated or upset at nonsense at work, I can always walk outside at some point and ground via this meditation. This is very much an internal grounding that I then instruct to dissipate over time so I don’t get overly tired or want a prolonged nap. That has happened to me before, so I’m bringing it up now. Very useful. It’s quick, quiet, and requires no materials. And if you’ve read the title of the next section, then you know we can use this to our advantage in other ways.

Using the Fire and Earth Attunement as a Curse

I would encourage the squeamish or judgemental to not skip this section. There are some benefits to knowing and understanding the concepts that make these variants effective.  If you’d like to cut to the summary - they will mimic symptoms one may feel from doing these practices too intensely, for overly prolonged periods, or not following the draining portion at the end of the exercise/attunement.

Those who have followed my practice over the years had to have known this was coming. There are some very use cases for turning this exceptionally beneficial exercise into its negative counterpart. The summary above gives some of those hints, but not the explanations.

Let’s look at the two elements involved in this ability - Earth and Fire. We’ve talked in the tweak area above about using them in more nuanced ways.  Practicing that exercise with the nuances will allow you to use those nuances for more detrimental agendas. Burn out their internals or mental capacity. Increase inflammation for effects over a longer period of time. Ground out their energy centers, motivation, and thought processes. It’s really a matter of imagination and practiced skill.

And…POOF…you’re all experts, right? Not without practice. There are ways to do this without a lot of practice, but it isn’t the same technique. Anyone can use petitions (especially hybrid petitions) or call on Fire or Earth elementals from Pele’s Grimoire 1 for similar effects. But petitions aren’t how energetic practitioners directly grow their skills and ability to use larger, more concentrated energies over time.

The one area we haven’t mentioned yet from the attunement exercise is - the outer shell. When the fountain comes out of us and covers us. In the exercise, we burn off negative attachments. Sure, we could specify “helpful” attachments in our baneful approach, but we could also coat them to shield them from beneficial external energies. A more sinister version would be to also use the coating to pull the beneficials energies out of them. 

That’s right. We’re essentially creating and programming that exercise into a construct. How long that construct lasts will depend on your ritual and how many times you’ve reinforced it against that particular target or target set. It’s a big leap, but once understood, it will take your empowering rituals to that mythical “next level”. The creation can happen on its own with repetition and time. Or you could look into the Servitor Empowerment section later on in this book. I suppose it should be said that the servitor could either feed upon the energies it releases, be fed by you, or some combination. Allowing it to feed off of those energies would give it more incentive over time.

(2026 note - this is a free flow collection point where I'm dumping thoughts and techniques to expand on later. It's not cohesive and should be taken as impressions given or deduced from the spirits for later work.)

My connection to the local Land Spirits has been waning the closer I get to moving. Part of this is the knowledge that I'm leaving after we had several really good, fruitful years together. The Fae Queen that has a hive off of my property has told me I won't return there,  but that is my intention at this time. The high school is good and I'd like my child to finish there, rather than the mediocre Hawaii schools I can afford as a civil servant, even if I'm a technical one.

I do know some of what's coming over the next few years. Accessing new volcanos, helping to rebalance and energize parts of the land, learning more about the different types of land spirits, storing renewable energies, and more that I am not aware of.

I'm being shown storage techniques to bridge some of the energetic-> physical rituals, but some energy work will be needed. There will be bridging methods that will work, but the real goal should be to do them more energetically.

Courting and asking a water spirit to feed a crystal for you (this is not a Kamohoali'i spirit, but something softer). The one I see looks like a sea bright blue seahorse with some dark blue striations (?), red eyes and some red dots here and there. 

A similar process will happen with an Earth spirit, but there are different types of Earth. Some are more fertile than others. There are generalist spirits and specific ones for specific types of soil. Acidic soil to slow down and degrade. Molten soil that can be cooled to a stand still. Loose soil that falls away at a disturbance.

The mountain chains are connected through the telluric(?) lines, but these should be used to access energy from other places. Calling an elemental from that place will help. Friendships with one group of elementals can help call the others.

Swampy places for rot. Binding someone to lava flow sites that haven't recovered to cause them to whither.

Stone anchors. Chisel/mark the stone with a sort of sigil for that place. Ask a local guardian to oversee it or to accept it. Create a servitor that will feed power from that place to a caller, but there must be limits put on how much can be taken out for sustainability. Also, the caller should give an offering the energies of which will be converted and acceptable to the guardian to help nourish the place.

(2026 note - I started creating these anchors a few years ago, but couldn't get back to most of them to further develop it out. Some of the places I've put them will follow and these are rough, unfinished works that I'm rethinking and replanning).

Went to Ka'ena Point today, but didn't get to finish due to torrential rains hitting all of the Hawaiian islands. About 1/4th of the way through the single way path of the out-and-back hike, I could feel a water spirit following our movements. She made contact at a distance, but wanted to wait to introduce herself until I got to a point a little over ¾ of the way out. She was playful, seemed “young” in responses, and was moving up and down the shore as she waited for our meeting.

I admit I wasn't prepared. I had thought of bringing my typical minimalist offering kit (for me). I didn't even have an offering for her to formalize the meeting. She didn't seem to care about that and was more interested in meeting. This isn’t uncommon for spirits that reach out to make contact, rather than the magician calling upon them. Still, there will be an offering involved when I finally meet her.
Thing is, I've completed that hike 6 other times in years past. This hike was my first meeting with Kamohoali'i, who notified me that I should call him later that night in my ritual space at my last house here. I can't honestly say that this happened at the same exact location, but can say it was the same trail. Yet, I don't think she is bound to him like we'd expect.

She's an elemental. While I had a mermaid form in my head, she's smaller than a medium-sized dog. Her spirit felt “light”, but this is by her choice. She was showing “playful” behavior and this was due to the excitement of the meeting, I assumed. 

Unfortunately, the rains came and I wasn't able to meet her. I was disappointed, certainly. I am quite grateful that I will be able to meet her again, at that spot, in the not too distant future after I move back here in mid-June 2024.

I remember all of the Land Spirits that have come to me on these islands. One, from Pele's Grimoire (1), Tutama, has advanced and is off doing his thing. We've kept in touch. He's come to me in Maryland and I have continued to honor that friendship over the past few years. I know I will see less of him as he continues to climb and fulfill those things he needs to keep doing so.

But service to the Land, whether great or small, and the spirits in it can pay dividends. My relationship with Tutama helped gain me audiences with other land spirits that didn't know or trust humans in general. It was an unexpected boon. I was simply honoring a spirit that had presented itself to me for recognition. 

I can't say that this “little” mermaid would play out the same way. Sitting here in Kapolei, I can feel the air spirit at the Christmas Tree Farm in Wahiawa. The spirit came to me, was recognized, but we haven't interacted much. Same with the spirits in Kauai when I paid for a shell and some coral I was taking. But returning those is what led to Tutama deciding I was worthy of interaction.

That may seem like an odd phrase or perhaps “inappropriate” by those that MUST feel like they are above and superior to “simple” land spirits. It's ironic. We're (absolutely arguably) smarter than ever, yet fail to see the local Wisdom of beings that will outlast us. This “young” water spirit is far older than I am, yet feels so much more youthful. It is one of the lessons we can choose to learn from these beings. If we have the humbleness or humility to do so. 

I could remove her from existence and she knows this. Both of us know there would be repercussions. Yet, I am very eager and pleased to make her acquaintance. I have no need to “Lord” over her. Those that do have lost sight of how interconnected everything is in their pursuit of petty Power or haven't started enough of the actual Work to understand how equally important it is.

The Wahiawa Botanical Gardens Anchor

The first anchor is done. I wasn't expecting it to be at the Wahiawa Botanical Gardens. On a whim, I had stopped into a store to grab some insect repellent and felt the urge to also snag some single-use diabetic lancets. I figured they were to help secure housing once my trip ends here, but apparently there were other ideas in mind.

Most of the trails at the gardens were closed due to flash flood risk. The amount of rain that has fallen this week is uncharacteristic of this time of year and flash floods are a legitimate concern. I wasn't expecting much. Really, we were killing time before a house viewing we had to go to in that area.

My wife was doing something with her phone when I felt a nudge to stop at a specific point on the trail. I then felt like I should make an offering, but all I had on me were those lancets and tap water. The lancets came to mind. I was being asked for a blood offering by a non-trivial land spirit. I was then told I could leave an anchor there and then use it in this tome. 

I asked if I should deposit a physical anchor later, which made me uncomfortable, since this is a protected park. I got a strong NO feeling from that. I was asked for three drops of blood in different areas that wouldn't be touched by other people. I did this. I was then asked for some of my water in a few locations, which I also did. I was given the location to drop my energetic anchor. The collective land spirits will administer this link.

Refreshing Energies. That is what the link will provide. I have focused on the anchor from my hotel room and feel it. I could use it, honestly. House Hunting is always stressful. 

It is unusual for spirits like that to ask for blood, but these spirits knew me from my previous work and I suspect that some of the Gods and Goddesses I've worked with here had a hand in that. I stated later on, when talking about Offerings, I don't normally offer that to land spirits. They don't normally ask for it and don't seem to value it like other spirits do. No warning bells went off, so I went ahead and did it. I didn't have any intention of creating one there. The whole situation seems like one of the Goddesses or Gods had a hand in that.

Maka Pu'u Lighthouse Trail Anchor

19MAY24

We went to  Maka Pu'u Lighthouse Trail on the eastern side of the island after our house showing. We had to stop to change clothes and I felt that the bread offering and apple offering I had given to those idols I've brought with me were destined to be left there. While a half of an end piece of bread doesn't seem like much of an offering, I liked the other half of it and wanted to eat it at dinner last night. I got the feeling they would appreciate it, so I wrapped it up and took it with me after dinner. That I wanted to eat it held the value in the item, not the bread itself. What also held value was that they knew I understood the reason why and agreed.

The bread was offered as soon as I opened the trunk, at the foot of the trail. Quickly, quietly. No one noticed. I also grabbed some single-use lancets, felt I should grab a rock, and got ready to do the “hike”. I didn't know where on the trail, or off of it, that I would be using this stone as the next anchor. I only knew that I would be.

There are several side trails and overlook spaces on this trail. Some lead to little alcoves, others to structures that used to support the lighthouse when it was still in operation. Somewhere along this 2 mile (1 mile out and back) trail, there's now a buried anchor. I didn't choose the place, actually. I was almost shoved towards it and it was part of the trail I hadn't paid attention to before.

I tossed the apple over the edge of a cliff when no one was looking. It landed on another jutting piece of land that only the pigs and East Asian Mongoose can travel with ease. I haven't seen either on the trail, but that isn't unusual. The shore birds and ants will make short work of it.

It was at this point that I knew where to put this rock, once I had anchored it as such. I put several drops of blood on it and buried it surreptitiously out of sight of any others. I felt two spirits come and approve and it was their eyes and gazes that I had been feeling, though I hadn't seen them. I created the anchor portion and they also solidified it to the land, doing almost all of the work to show their support. That was unexpected, but certainly welcome. I was quite thankful. I'm still not sure how all of these spirits will be taking this project and welcomed no interest at all (since that isn't hostile). To have such a show of support was a little unnerving, in a good way. I now have a primary contact and a secondary. They will be engaging the guardian and I didn't meet them. I can say it has something to do with one of the mountains in the area, but that's all I know.

I did want to point out that I saw almost the same spirit from the Wahiawa Botanical Gardens. The spirit help to make these things happen. He is the DOer making some of the connections happen. It wasn't the exact same spirit. Looked the same and I saw some generic anime-looking figure (I don't watch it, so no names or anything like that). Same look, but different spirit. He isn't the person I'm largely interacting with, like the fairy-like gal interfacing with me (in Maryland), but there is some level of coordination going on that I can see, but not understand.

NOTE - there is a sense of working UP the “food chain” here. There is an approval process that has to happen. At least when one is not Polynesian. As soon as I grabbed the second link, it was weighing on me. I realized that I was becoming more interested in some of the Tiki representations BECAUSE this was happening. That wasn't at all until now. Tutama appeared with a Tiki mask and I figured it was because I was a Caucasian choosing themes that my mind associated with Polynesia to give me a reference for the visualization. This may still be, but things are more serious now, I can feel.

I will have to stand before them at some point, each, and my merits will be weighed against my wrongs, in their eyes and on their scales - by their standards. Less from a “will strike you down” in a biblical sort of way, but as a closing of the door and access. Yet, I know that their minds are partly (at least) already made up and I am proving whether I can do it or not. While that will depend on more than just “me”, they will clear that out to an extent so I either stand or and shut out on my own merits.

Some want me to succeed. I don't know who any of them really are outside of bigger names. Some are mistrustful. None openly “hate”, but they are not inclined towards approval by default. The truth is - I can already tell that some of those that put my grimoires to work will not meet their standards. It's just that the odds are better that some will and enough that things will spread in a  way they somewhat approve of will happen. Way later. I'm being told to close down the stream of thought for the night. And so I shall.
