Community Rules

Welcome to The Occult Corner.

The Occult Corner exists as a place for occult practitioners, students, beginners, clients, and the genuinely curious to discuss magick, divination, ritual practice, spirits, grimoires, personal experience, and related subjects.

Please read these rules before participating.

By using The Occult Corner community, you agree to follow these Community Rules in addition to the site’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Ignorance of the rules is not exemption from the rules.

  1. KEEP IT CIVIL

Disagreement is allowed. Debate is allowed. Criticism is allowed.

Harassment, personal attacks, persistent hostility, stalking, threats, and deliberately disruptive behavior are not.

Critique the idea, method, interpretation, source, or argument. Do not turn disagreement into abuse of another member.

Members may block other users and may report inappropriate public or private communications to moderation.

  1. NEW MEMBERS AND MEMBER STANDING

All newly registered members ordinarily enter The Occult Corner as Initiates.

The Occult Corner uses three ordinary community standings:

Initiate — the introductory standing for new members beginning to participate in the community.

Practitioner — an established member who has demonstrated genuine participation and a reasonable record of conduct.

Adept — the highest ordinary community standing. Adept represents established community trust and grants access to the private Inner Chamber.

Advancement is not automatic and is not determined solely by account age, post count, occult experience, claimed credentials, or popularity.

As a general principle, approximately 90 days of active and constructive participation should normally provide enough time for a new member to become eligible for Adept consideration. Ninety days is a guideline, not an entitlement to promotion.

Returning members who were already known and trusted participants of the previous Occult Corner may be admitted directly as Adepts. Persons personally known to Vitriol may likewise be assigned an appropriate standing when sufficient trust already exists.

Member standing may be advanced, retained, or reduced according to participation, conduct, community trust, and administrative judgment.

New members are encouraged to introduce themselves in the designated Introductions thread.

You do not need to reveal your real name, location, profession, photograph, or other personally identifying information.

Pseudonyms and magical names are welcome.

  1. COMMUNITY AREAS

The Occult Corner is organized into several principal areas.

THE OCCULT CORNER
Official community information, announcements, rules, introductions, and important institutional updates.

OCCULT PRACTICE
Discussion and practical resources concerning occult methods, tutorials, divination, healing, wealth magick, and related forms of practice.

PUBLIC PRAISING OF THE SPIRITS
A dedicated space for members to publicly offer thanks, praise, and acknowledgment to the spirits they work with.

THE SANCTUM
A place for personal practice, experiences, observations, reflections, journals, and the ongoing record of the occult path.

THE ATRIUM
The public gathering place of The Occult Corner for community conversation, social discussion, interests, and getting to know one another beyond occult practice.

THE INNER CHAMBER
A private area available to Adepts, Wardens, and the administration.

The Inner Chamber exists for trusted-member conversation and may also be used to discreetly raise legitimate concerns about community conduct.

It is not a secret court, rumor mill, or place for organizing harassment, factional campaigns, or collective action against another member. Concerns should address conduct or circumstances. Investigation and moderation decisions belong to the Wardens and administration.

THE MINISTRY OF SORCERY
A private staff area reserved for Wardens and the administration. It is used for moderation, member-management discussions, community concerns, and administrative coordination.

Members should make a reasonable effort to place topics in the most appropriate area. Wardens or the administration may move topics where necessary.

  1. NO PIRACY OR PLAGIARISM

Do not distribute, request, or direct users toward pirated books, courses, files, videos, PDFs, or other copyrighted material.

Reasonable quotation and discussion of copyrighted works are permitted when properly attributed and used in good faith.

Do not present another person’s writing, artwork, ritual, research, sigil, divination, or other intellectual work as your own.

  1. RESPECT MEMBER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Content posted by members remains attributable to its creator.

Do not republish substantial member-created content elsewhere without permission.

Short quotations may be used for discussion, criticism, review, or reference when the original author is clearly credited.

Do not copy another member’s journal, ritual report, personal gnosis, artwork, method, or writing and present it as your own work.

  1. NO UNAUTHORIZED ADVERTISING OR COMMERCIAL SOLICITATION

The Occult Corner is not a free advertising platform for competing commercial services.

Members may not use public posts or private messages to solicit clients, promote paid readings, paid rituals, commercial spiritual services, stores, courses, or other businesses unless specifically authorized by The Occult Corner.

Members may identify their profession or practice where relevant to a discussion and may include appropriate links in their profile.

Official The Occult Corner products, services, publications, and announcements may be promoted by Vitriol or authorized TOC accounts.

Unsolicited private-message advertising is prohibited.

  1. NO PREDATORY OCCULT UPSELLING

This rule is particularly important.

Do not offer a free reading, scan, ritual, channeling, energy assessment, or other service and then frighten the recipient by claiming they are cursed, possessed, spiritually attacked, blocked, doomed, or otherwise endangered in order to sell them additional services.

For example, offering a free reading and then claiming that it reveals a terrible curse which only you can remove for payment is prohibited.

That behavior may result in immediate restriction or removal from the community.

  1. OFFERING FREE SERVICES

Members may offer free occult services to other members only after becoming established participants in the community.

The normal minimum is approximately 90 days of genuine, active, constructive participation.

Account age alone does not qualify someone. Creating an account, disappearing for three months, and returning on Day 91 does not create an entitlement to offer services.

Warden or administrative judgment applies.

Free means free. You may not demand tips, donations, reimbursement, purchases, reviews, or future paid work as a condition of providing the service.

Free services may include divination, ritual work, petitions, scanning, energy work, healing-oriented spiritual work, channeling, sigil work, experimentation, or similar practices.

Trading free services between established members is permitted.

  1. GROUP WORKINGS

Members may participate in public group workings or challenges where permitted by the organizer.

Private group workings may establish their own participation requirements.

As a general guideline, members should have at least 30 days of constructive community participation before joining private group workings and approximately 90 days before organizing one.

Nobody is entitled to admission to another member’s private working. If an organizer declines your participation, accept the decision.

  1. PRIVATE MESSAGES

Private messaging is available for legitimate member communication.

Private messages remain subject to these Community Rules.

Do not use private messages to harass, threaten, solicit clients, distribute prohibited material, or circumvent public-forum rules.

Members may block other users and may report inappropriate messages to TOC moderation.

Private messages should be understood as private community communications, not as guaranteed end-to-end encrypted or legally privileged communications.

Do not use The Occult Corner to transmit information requiring high-security communications.

  1. PROTECT PEOPLE’S PRIVACY

Do not dox another person.

Do not publish another private person’s home address, phone number, workplace, financial information, government identification numbers, private photographs, private contact information, family information, or similar personally identifying information without permission.

Members may voluntarily share information about themselves, but TOC strongly recommends limiting unnecessary personal information in public discussions.

If divination or ritual work involves a third party, avoid publishing unnecessary identifying information about that person.

  1. BANEFUL MAGICK MAY BE DISCUSSED

The Occult Corner is not a “love and light only” community.

Discussion of curses, hexes, jinxes, baneful magick, demonolatry, blood offerings, spirit work, coercive traditions, and other controversial occult practices is allowed when relevant to genuine occult discussion.

However, occult discussion does not excuse credible threats, harassment, doxxing, incitement of real-world violence, or illegal conduct.

Do not threaten another TOC member with mundane or magical harm.

Do not publish identifying information about a target while announcing an intention to harm them.

  1. GRAPHIC AND MATURE CONTENT

Graphic gore, pornography, and gratuitously shocking imagery are prohibited.

Mature occult topics may be discussed when genuinely relevant to practice, history, ritual, or scholarship.

Where practical, clearly mark mature or potentially disturbing material.

Discussion of blood offerings, sacrifice, sexuality, death, or similar subjects is permitted when relevant, but TOC is not a repository for graphic injury imagery or pornography.

  1. NO MORALIZING IN ANOTHER PRACTITIONER’S WORKING

Do not enter someone’s journal, ritual report, or working thread solely to condemn their religion, morality, spirits, or practice or to attempt to convert them.

You may challenge methodology, historical claims, interpretations, safety, evidence, source quality, or internal consistency.

Critique the practice intelligently. Do not preach at the practitioner.

  1. POLITICS STAYS SUBORDINATE TO THE OCCULT TOPIC

The Occult Corner is not a partisan political forum.

General political campaigning, ideological fights, party advocacy, and contemporary political flame wars may be removed.

Politics may be discussed when directly relevant to occult history, religious history, censorship, ritual traditions, historical movements, or another legitimate occult subject.

Keep the occult subject primary.

  1. NO COMMUNITY WARS

Do not create threads whose principal purpose is attacking another occult forum, creator, author, practitioner, YouTuber, blog, community, or public personality.

Critical review is allowed.

You may disagree strongly with someone’s book, argument, ritual method, historical claim, video, or teaching.

Personal harassment, coordinated attacks, rumor campaigns, and non-constructive bashing are not allowed.

  1. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DECEPTIVE AUTHORSHIP

AI tools may be discussed and may be used as tools.

Do not present substantially AI-generated occult writing, research, divination, ritual accounts, personal gnosis, artwork, or other material as if it were entirely your own direct experience or authorship when that representation would materially mislead other members.

AI-generated spam or mass-produced low-value content may be removed.

  1. NO IMPERSONATION OR DECEPTIVE ACCOUNTS

Do not impersonate Vitriol, a Warden, another practitioner, another member, or another real person.

Test accounts operated by TOC administration may exist for technical purposes.

Sockpuppet accounts may not be used to fabricate endorsements, testimonials, popularity, arguments, customer experiences, or community consensus.

  1. THE FORUM IS NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE

The Occult Corner is not a medical, mental-health, legal, emergency, or crisis-response service.

If you or another person is in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, contact appropriate local emergency services or qualified real-world professionals.

Occult discussion and ritual practice should not be presented as substitutes for necessary medical, psychological, legal, or emergency assistance.

General discussion of personal experiences, mental health, healing traditions, and spiritual practices remains permitted.

  1. OFFICIAL TOC SERVICES ARE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED

Advice, divination, ritual work, or spiritual services offered by ordinary community members are not official services of The Occult Corner.

Only services expressly offered through The Occult Corner and identified as performed by Vitriol or another formally authorized TOC practitioner are official TOC services.

The Occult Corner does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, outcome, or quality of unofficial services exchanged between members.

  1. LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATION

English is the primary administrative language of The Occult Corner.

Members may post and communicate in other languages.

TOC provides a visitor-controlled translation tool for convenience. Automatic browser-language translation is disabled; users choose when and how they wish to translate the site.

Machine translation can make mistakes. Members should not assume that automatically translated wording perfectly reproduces the author’s original meaning.

Where a disagreement appears to result from translation, Wardens or the administration may request clarification.

Members may post in languages supported by the site’s translation system. Where practical, members are encouraged to use clear language and provide context where machine translation may be ambiguous.

  1. KEEP PRACTICAL DISCUSSIONS ON TOPIC

The Occult Corner exists primarily for occult practice and knowledge.

Journals should remain focused on the author’s practice unless the author welcomes broader discussion.

Tutorials should remain instructional.

Divination threads should remain relevant to divination.

Social conversation, jokes, memes, and off-topic material belong in designated community areas.

Do not repeatedly derail another member’s thread.

  1. ATTACHMENTS AND FILES

Member attachments should ordinarily be limited to appropriate images and GIFs.

Do not upload executables, suspicious archives, pirated files, malware, or unrelated documents.

PDF and other document distribution may be restricted to Vitriol, Wardens, or specifically authorized users.

The Occult Corner may remove attachments that create security, storage, copyright, privacy, or moderation concerns.

  1. FOLLOW APPLICABLE LAW

Members are responsible for complying with laws applicable to them.

TOC rules do not authorize illegal conduct.

The Occult Corner may cooperate with lawful requests from appropriate authorities where legally required.

  1. WARDENS

Warden is an appointed office, not an ordinary member standing and not a measure of occult knowledge, spiritual attainment, or personal superiority.

Wardens are moderators entrusted with helping protect and administer The Occult Corner.

Within the authority granted to them, Wardens may moderate topics and posts, address rule violations, manage ordinary members, issue or recommend appropriate moderation actions, and participate in decisions concerning ordinary member standing.

Wardens are expected to exercise judgment fairly.

Disagreement with a Warden, criticism of an idea, or holding a different occult, religious, philosophical, or political opinion is not by itself misconduct.

Wardens may not independently redesign the community hierarchy, alter fundamental institutional policy, appoint Wardens or administrators, make fundamental changes to the forum, or claim ownership or independent authority over The Occult Corner.

The office exists to serve and protect the community.

  1. ADMINISTRATION AND MODERATION AUTHORITY

Vitriol is the founder and final administrative authority of The Occult Corner.

The administration retains final authority over community policy, member standing, moderation, appointment or removal of Wardens, interpretation of these Rules, restricted areas, and the operation of The Occult Corner.

Administrative authority does not require every ordinary moderation decision to be personally made by Vitriol. Wardens are expected to exercise the authority entrusted to their office.

Depending upon the circumstances, moderation may include editing or removing content, moving or closing topics, warnings, restrictions, changes in member standing, suspension, or banning.

Not every moderation action requires an escalating sequence of warnings.

Serious threats, doxxing, predatory behavior, fraud, repeated harassment, malicious files, or severe abuse may justify immediate suspension or banning.

Moderation decisions may take context and prior conduct into account.

Moderation powers exist to protect the community and enforce its Rules, not to suppress legitimate disagreement.

  1. RULES MAY EVOLVE

The Occult Corner will evolve.

These rules may be updated as the community, technology, services, and risks change.

Continued participation after updated rules become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Community Rules, subject to any additional acknowledgment requirements established by TOC.

QUESTIONS

Questions about these rules should be sent privately to @Vitriol or, when appointed, an authorized Warden.
